Help us teach 1 million children how to swim in 2017!

One of the guiding principles of the Make a Splash initiative is to share the life-saving message of learn-to-swim with every community in the nation. In order to reach the widest audience possible, the USA Swimming Foundation partners with swim lesson providers across the country who are willing to promote water safety education to their communities and/or provide scholarships for children to participate in their swim lesson programs.

The benefits of being a USA Swimming Foundation Make a Splash Local Partner are endless! Make a Splash Local Partners are connected to our Charitable, Affiliate, and Task Force networks, and provided materials and resources to use when hosting water safety events. Additionally, the USA Swimming Foundation has an annual grant fund for Make a Splash Local Partners who provide services to children who, otherwise, would not have the opportunity to participate swimming lessons. To date, the USA Swimming Foundation has awarded more than $4 million in grant dollars to Make a Splash Local Partners.

Children with Challenges

The USA Swimming Foundation, USA Swimming, Aquatic Therapy Rehab Institute, and Starfish Aquatics Institute have partnered together in effort to make swimming accessible to all children. Children With Challenges is an online and/or in-person educational workshop to support swim lesson and swim team programs in working with children who have cognitive or physical challenges in an aquatic setting.
